Spending Fast

As politicians wrangle over economic words, it was not a good week for America's financial sector. The national deficit is close to 10 trillion dollars and climbs over 1 billion every day.

As the government spends fast on bailing out financial institutions my family is doing a spending fast. We gassed up our cars, went grocery shopping and put away the debit card for one week. Kristan is happy to save money and I am challenged in my unconscious consumerism.

The beginning of the week is always easier than the weekend. No movies, caramel macchiatos, chipotle steak tacos, gum, parking downtown, ice cream after school and my gas tank is already half empty.

If we get together this week, you buy, and I'll get you back next week. Thanks!
